Take a Class

Drawing for Beginners

This is a course for adults who want to begin to explore the world of drawing and for those wishing to renew skills that may have gotten rusty over the years. We use several different still life set-ups to study form, composition, shadow & light, and texture. We will also try working from photographs, with the emphasis on creating something new in the process.  Class size is limited to 12 adults so that each student may receive as much individual instruction as possible.

Next six week course starting September 30, 2009

Wednesday Evenings, 7-9 Cost is $100

Watercolor Skills

Let's be clear.  Watercolor is not easy.  It requires lots of practice and patience.  The course I teach is not about fancy paper, a wide selection of brushes, or name brand paints.  It is about learning the rules, how to control the paint, how to mix the colors you want.  We work on staying inside the lines, going outside the lines, on keeping tight and getting all loose and flowy.  It teaches you how to get a good gradation of color, how to make a crisp edge.  Once you have those skills, you can paint whatever you choose, develop your own style, and if you want to, break all the rules you just learned.  It's up to you.
